Rio Advocates was founded by Pat Doyle in 2018.  She holds a M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis on Aging, and is a Certified Senior Advisor.  Pat has represented hundreds of individuals and their families advocating for them in the health care field and has a proven record of high client satisfaction.  During this time, she investigated allegations of abuse, neglect, and rights violations of people in facilities, including nursing homes.  She knows first-hand the difficulties and joys of caregiving in her role as caregiver to her mother in 2016.  Pat has a particular interest in mental health issues and how they impact physical health and functioning.  She also has an interest in serving "solo seniors", or those facing aging alone regardless of the circumstances.

I hired Pat when it became overwhelmingly apparent that I could no longer manage my dad\'s care. I should have hired her sooner. As a parent of two very young children and a full-time job, keeping track of my dad\'s day to day needs was next to impossible, but Pat took on the roll and became my eyes and ears to maintain involvement in my dad\'s care. His condition is extremely complicated, with minimal ability to communicate, but Pat was very patient and always speaking to my dad, rather than about him, when discussing his care in his presence. She was excellent with maintaining communication with me, and setting up care plan meetings with the staff and family. My dad was in and out of the hospital, moving from SNF to SNF, and finally moving out of state in hopes of getting better quality health care. Based on our great experience with Pat, we sought out another advocate in the new location to take over Pat\'s responsibilities. Pat will be a valuable addition to the care management and patient advocacy for any family in need of an extra pair of eyes and ears on their loved one!
